BARBADIAN MUSIC LOVERS were given a treat for the ages yesterday, getting to hear a number of performances from this country’s deaf community.
More than 300 patrons attended the Barbados Deaf Calypso Project’s Concert and Showcase, held at the Frank Collymore Hall.
The fans on hand were treated to the sweet rhythms of steel pan music, rap and other musical entertainment, all performed by those who are deaf.
The major goal of the project is to create equal access where deaf people are afforded opportunities for employment, recreation and a higher quality of life.
Here, members of the Bajan Hands Choir and the Barbados Community College steel band going through their presentation.
