As we embrace the beginning of a New Year and a new decade, let us pause to be glad that we have made it here!
2020 will be recorded as one of the most challenging years that we have ever had the opportunity to experience. We endured deprivations and indignities and above all else, many many losses due to the global pandemic. We have lost liberty and loved ones; employment became even more difficult; the very fabric of our existence was completely altered in many ways.
With the current situation we are facing, I strongly urge all of you to remain vigilant. As we approach another period of isolation we must continue to support each other and maintain our networks.
At this time, we must also send prayers for the deliverance of our colleagues in St. Vincent and the Grenadines as the La Soufriere volcano has begun to erupt. We must pray that preparations for evacuation will prove unnecessary and the danger level can be reduced. However, we trust that in the event of evacuations, they may prove to be inclusive in their approach and that there will be positive outcomes.
As we begin a year that may seem uncertain, let us hold to those realities which we know to be certain, that in times of adversity our network remains strong when we support each other, that God will always be our guide and even though we may move through what may seem to be the darkest shadow, that he will lead us safely through.
